We will begin our exploration in the Plaza de Armas, the heart of Arequipa, surrounded by imposing colonial buildings built with the distinctive white sillar. Here, you will admire the majestic Cathedral of Arequipa, one of the largest in the country, and learn about its history and neoclassical architecture.
Next, we will visit the Church of the Society of Jesus, famous for its impressive baroque facade and its cloister full of details carved in ashlar. Then, we will head to the Monastery of Santa Catalina, a vast religious complex that is practically a city within the city. We will walk through its narrow cobbled streets, colorful cloisters and monastic cells, while our guide tells us the fascinating history of the nuns who lived there for centuries.
To finish, we will visit the viewpoint of Yanahuara, from where you will have a spectacular panoramic view of the city and the volcanoes Misti, Chachani and Pichu Pichu. Before returning to your hotel, you will have free time to enjoy the view and take pictures.
